Nick Schopp focuses his practice in the areas of banking, real estate, construction, and general commercial litigation, with an emphasis on creditor’s rights.  He regularly litigates matters in state and federal courts, and has significant experience advocating on behalf of creditors in bankruptcy courts nationwide.  Nick recognizes that his job as a litigator is rarely complete following entry of a judgment; he understands that a client’s goal is always focused on collection and retention. To this end, he is very aggressive and will do everything in his power to locate and levy upon assets when assets are available. Nick has established relationships with commercial litigation and collection attorneys nationwide, and is able to assist clients no matter where a particular debtor is located.

As a complement to his litigation practice, Nick regularly works with banks, owners, architects, general contractors, subcontractors, title companies and disbursement agents at the negotiation, drafting and implementation stages of construction contracts, leases, and financing arrangements.

Nick joined AEGIS in 2004 as an associate, and became an owner of the firm in 2009.  He is actively involved in the administration and governance of the firm, and enjoys contributing to the firm’s long term vision and growth strategies.  Prior to his work with AEGIS, Nick began his legal career in the St. Louis County Counselor’s Office as a prosecutor and associate counsel to St. Louis County.
