Sheldon Korlin, is an advocate and counselor for growing businesses that provides 30 years of experience as a practical and creative problem solver for his business clients. He embraces the traditional label as a counselor at law. Sheldon listens to his clients’ concerns and speaking directly and plainly to them. He provides business advice and corporate counsel to cost effectively and creatively solve the issues for his business clients. As a counselor and advocate, he provides advice and counsel as a discussion with his client business owners and officers about the potential benefits, risks and costs of taking an action in a given circumstance.
Sheldon has worked with client companies to identify and obtain necessary environmental permits, and examine and modify the client’s production processes and/or feedstocks to reduce their waste and increase their profitability while lowering disposal costs. Sheldon’s abilities as an innovative thinker and problem solver are most publicly displayed in his original authorship of the Missouri “Abandoned Property Reuse Act” and it first amendments. Designed to take abandoned and idled properties with environmental issues (“Brownfields”) and put them back into productive use to create jobs, spur economic activity and raise surrounding property values.
A corporate officer and in-house counsel for nearly half of his career, Sheldon understands the real world business pressures of owners and managers to increase profits, grow sales, expand markets and manage employees within the ever changing legal requirements. Armed with nearly 30 years of experience both in private practice and as in-house General Counsel, Sheldon counsels and supports those business owners, directors, officers and managers to make informed and practical decisions that balance those demands.
